Punnagai Mannan a 1986 Tamil film starring Kamal Haasan, Revathi, Rekha, Srividya, Delhi Ganesh etc. is about Kamal and Rekha are lovers who are pushed by the society to take an extreme step. They go to a deserted waterfall with the intention of committing suicide. However, as destiny plays it, only Rekha dies while Kamal survives. Dejected and depressed, Kamal immerses himself in teaching dance to get over Rekha. Revathy joins his dance school as a student and tries to win over his heart.
